Mirsung is an ethnic grocery store that carries items from the Indian subcontinent.
This is a joint adventure between Renita Pinto and the Shenoys. They have been in the Champaign Urbana area since 2000 and are committed to the continued progress of our town and community.
As the ethnic diversity in Champaign has evolved and grown, the Pintos and the Shenoys saw the need for a store that would cater to, not just the Indian population, but also to anyone else who is keen to learn more about an amazing and different culture.
The name Mirsung in Konkani (a south Indian language) means chili. But that is not all we sell. We sell everything from spices to lentils, fresh produce to frozen foods and everything in between. We have fresh samosas, other snacks, a wide selection of Indian beverages and specially prepared sweets and pastries. In addition, we also sell items that help make your life easier from RTE’s (Ready to eat) food products to readymade dosa/idli batter.
